Southport Flower Show
Mood: Contented
Well we went on the 18th of August and what a day! It poured it down for most of the afternoon. Luckily there were plenty of indoor displays so we didn't get completely drenched.
It was a good day, there were so many stalls to see.
And we bought two very useful additions for Growing Matters
Both are carnivores. One 'Pitcher Plant' - Purpurea SSP Venosa, has found a home in the Alpine house where it is thriving.
The other will be of much more use in our fight against the dreaded Whitefly It's a 'Pinguicula x Wesser Butterwort' According to the sign the Victorians used it to deal with whitefly. And it already seems to be working.
It loves them! Now all we need a are a few more for the whole greenhouse and maybe some for the Tomato House.
Anyway Southport was a good show this year. Just so much to buy. And there were some great displays of carnivorous plants on show.
